The Southern Poverty Law Center is a very dangerous organization that participates in micro-deceit, micro-searing-of-conscience, and micro-perversion-of-reality.
It is run by people that are closely connected with various democratic/liberal cultural causes, and it uses its influence to push out anti-Christian bigotry while disguised as an anti-hate non-profit organization.
The SPLC rightly names a large number of extremist groups, however it falsely classifies being pro-traditional family as being an “extremist/hate group”
It publishes a list of hate groups here –
However, what is dangerous about the SPLC is that it now labels Pro-Traditional Marriage research organizations, whose job is to research and publish studies and facts regarding marriage and its impact on culture, as “extremist/hate groups”.
The current list of hate groups includes one main stream conservative leaning news organization and two main stream pro-family organizations whose research has often been used by various teachers, priests, and religious academic leaders within the Roman Catholic Church as a means of discussing the religious beliefs of Roman Catholicism about life and family from an anthropological and scientific viewpoint:
- World Net Daily – mainstream conservative news publication
- American Family Association – pro-traditional family organization uses facts, science, and logic to explain that redefining marriage will have far reaching and potentially dangerous ramifications
- Family Research Council – pro-traditional family organization uses facts, science, history, and logic to explain that that redefining marriage will have far reaching and potentially dangerous ramifications. Studies and Research produced by the Family Research Council is often used by various agents within the Roman Catholic Church in an academic setting to better illustrate the impacts of not following Roman Catholic teachings about life and family.
Calling the Family Research Council a “Hate Group or Extremist Group” basically means you are labeling the Roman Catholic Church as a “Hate Group” in addition to labeling Pope Benedict and Pope Francis as members of a “Hate Group”.
This is the reason why, in 2013 The FBI declared the Southern Poverty Law Center an unreliable resource on hate groups and stopped utilizing the hate group lists and classification information produced by the Southern Poverty Law Center.
If the United States Supreme Court re-defines marriage and enshrines the new definition into the US Constitution by means of an ad-hoc “from the bench” ruling, the Roman Catholic Church in the United States will find itself in a state of grave and direct danger of attack by various Government Entities on the basis of holding religious beliefs that seeming conflict with constitutional requirements.
